Literacy
- New Sight words: be, his, her
- Practice the following words at home as well… I, can, like, see , the, and, look, have, are, is, for, my, go, play, am, here, run, we, in, eat, you, will, big, little, me, on, with, said, at, come, it, up, down, this
- Sight word songs and dance
- Main idea of a story
- Retelling a story
- Teacher Table: guided reading, making sentences with magnetic words
- Puppet Theater: Acting out stories by dressing up or puppets
- Listening Center: Students will listen to the story, “Sneezy” draw a picture of when Sneezy melted and write how he melted
- Word Wall: Building/Writing sight words with choice of…playdoh, wikki stix, puff balls, jewels, rainbow writing, stack and build
- Writing Center: Students will have their choice of the following at writing center:
- Picture cards: choose a card, draw a picture and write a sentence about the picture.
- Independent journal: free write and draw in their journal
- Winter crowns
- Snowflake write around the room: hunt for sight word snowflakes, write and read the words
- Sticker Stories: choose 1 sticker and sound out the word and draw a picture
- Library: reading independently or with a buddy self- selected books from our library
- Parent Games: Snowman CVC words
- IPad’s: choice of ABC mouse or RAZ kids
